I have always relied on the method of Observation, Interpretation, and Application (OIA) in my Bible study, but using the ACTS method (Asking Questions, Composing Thoughts, Testing Conclusions, and Submitting to God’s Word) from Hermeneutics for Everyone has been a game-changer for me. It requires more effort, but it has deepened my study significantly. This has pushed me to grow in my ability to interpret the Bible independently, rather than relying on outside sources too early in the process. This method has helped me mature in my faith, as it gives me more time to meditate on the Scripture and truly engage with it.
